How long have you been in business?
In 1969 the Junior Women's Club of Lyndhurst was asked by a parish priest, concerned by increasing drug use in the area, if they would take on a service project to survey the needs of the community. The Junior Women's Club began their work as part of their Community Improvement Project outreach, and soon found themselves in the office of the County Mental Health Director who suggested they start a Community Mental Health Center. Soon after, a meeting of concerned citizens, social workers and clinicians was held to make plans for a mental health center in southern Bergen County.
The South Bergen Mental Health Center was born; many members of the Lyndhurst Junior Women's Club were on the original Board of Trustees.

What type of payments do you accept?
Comprehensive Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. is a New Jersey state licensed community mental health center. We are a participating Medicaid and Medicare provider, as well as a participating provider for Magellen, Aetna, Cigna and most major insurance and managed care companies for outpatient therapy and psychiatric consultations. Additionally, our state grant also allows CBHCare to subsidize a portion of the cost of counseling for many local residents who lack insurance or other resources.
During an initial consultation at CBHCare, our friendly fee counselors will meet with each new client to maximize their insurance coverage benefits. When necessary, the fee counselor will assist them in navigating the insurance maze to best use their insurance benefits for counseling services.
Our fee counselors also specialize in assisting clients without coverage and other financial resources to use the state subsidies from our grants to find an affordable fee for all services. We believe that everyone should feel comfortable requesting and receiving the best possible behavioral health services without regard to the cost.
In forty years, no one has ever been denied CBHCare services because they could not afford them.
