Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
The business was formally established in 2003.
What is your primary product or service?
As a [primarily] print design specialist, I consult with business owners and marketing managers and provide concept, design, production and copywriting services for virtually any print communications vehicle: company or product identity (logo, etc.), brochures, publications, advertising, tradeshow signage..
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Multiple experiences working for business owners and marketing managers. Prior to starting this business, I spent 9 years as senior creative for marketing communications at Crestron Electronics.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I specialize in print design, rather than spreading myself thin with website design, video, mobile app design, etc. That said, I have worked on such non-print projects and I do accept such assignments on occasion. As a designer who can write, I can quickly articulate to stakeholders how print is best used to attract and engage and build businesses or constituencies.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location with global videoconferencing access but no physical expansion plans. From my office in northern NJ, quality face time is possible with a great many people in the tri-state area.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
As sole proprietor, I own the business and manage all operations. I do use subcontractors on occasion when there is significant workload or rush schedules to meet.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
"The delivered project was well-received by its intended audience, and met or exceeded its goal."
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
You [usually] get what you pay for.
